FluidEase Electronic Pipette
Embedded software and connected product development for a new generation of electronic laboratory equipment, integrating firmware, touchscreen interaction, Bluetooth connectivity and companion applications.
Embedded software at the core of a connected laboratory product.
AMSA joined the FluidEase Electronic Pipette project during its early development, working alongside Thermo Fisher Scientific's in-house team to establish the embedded software foundation for the new product.
The two-year engagement extended across firmware, mobile and web software, with AMSA contributing to the product architecture, Bluetooth communication, touchscreen interface and software requirements.
Embedded Firmware
Embedded software formed the foundation for instrument control, dispensing workflows and the core behaviour of the electronic pipette.
Touchscreen UI
The embedded interface brought dispensing functions, programs and instrument controls into a focused touch-driven experience.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Bluetooth interfaces and the messaging architecture enabled the pipette to communicate with its connected software environments.
Mobile & Web Integration
Companion applications connected to the pipette to support communication with current and historical dispensing sequences.
Built around a connected embedded architecture.
AMSA contributed to the technical foundation of FluidEase alongside Thermo Fisher's engineering teams.
Requirements
Embedded firmware and mobile application requirements.
Architecture
Messaging architecture across the connected software components.
Hardware
Support for BLE processor and touchscreen hardware selection.
Verification
Close alignment with verification and validation teams.
Built across embedded, connected and software systems.
The FluidEase product brought together instrument software, touchscreen interaction, Bluetooth communication and connected software environments.
